When most people hear it, math can be scary. But, to be a real aviator, you need math (specifically head calculating).
Some people will hide under the sofa if they hear the word 'math'. I'm not bragging, but since my uncle and my grandfather are both exceptional mathematicians (seriously, my grandpappy'll tell you the answer of 500x60 in 5 seconds).
Math was first invented as a way to track the planets, keep track of commerce and measure out land. Math is everywhere. You wouldn't be reading this post on your phone or computer if it weren't for math. Did you know that computers use math in everything? The size of the screen, the thickness of the base of computers can't be designed without math. Even if some math seems hard at first, it will become easy if you just think about it. I've participated in some of my local math competitions, and from my experience, they just add some extra letters and words to make the math seem hard, when in reality it is actually easy.
Even the most complex math at the heart is just some clever arithmetic. For example, this equation: ax3+bx2+cx+d=0 was deemed unsolvable by Leonardo da Vinci's math teacher, but at heart, it's just pure arithmetic.
This post is getting long, so to end it I'll just list some good ways to learn math and some good math resources
The Art of Problem Solving series. I have one book of this series, but my math knowledge has alreaedy tripled in the 2 months I'd had it
MathWorld. This is the best math resource online. It's like a database full of all mathematics known to humans
Wikipedia math portal. Wikipedia also has some pretty good joe when it comes to math.
