How to fly a Boeing 737

So, I know that I haven't written a post in a while. So today lets get to learn how to fly a Boeing 737 (in GeoFS).

  1. Making the flight plan.

Now, before you take off, take a moment or two to create a flight plan. The GeoFS NAV map has a feature called 'Create flight plan'. You'll see a button with this text on the top left corner of the NAV map. After you press the button, select your starting point and make the route. It's super easy. Once you have created the route, don't click on any buttons and simply close the NAV window. The flight plan will be saved, and once you open the NAV window again, you will see a flight plan. Remember to first draw a straight line aligned to the heading you'll take off. This straight line has to be long enough for you to climb to at least 5000 feet

2. Taking off

After the flight plan stage, press the '[' key two times to get the flaps out to the right angle and set the throttle to 70%. When you're at 150 knots (which might be enough to tie your stomach up in knots [joke]), pull back on the yoke and take off. Climb to five thousand feet and then turn to your desired direction.

3. Cruising

The cruising phase is pretty simple. You just turn on the AP and it will be automatically set to the heading you're flying at and the altitude you're flying at.

4. Landing

Start descending when you're still very far away from the airport. When you're landing, the altitude should be 500 feet. The flaps should be at full, and the throttle 30%. Remember to put the gear down! When you're over the start of the runway, start retarding the throttle and when you touch down, apply full reverse thrust and spoilers. Don't slow the plane down to 0 knots, though. When your reversers, spoilers and brakes slow you down to 10-15 knots, let go of the brakes, close the spoilers and retract the reversers. Then set the throttle to 10% power and taxi back to your gate

So I hope you enjoyed this little 737 guide. See ya!
